Looking Back at October
Where did it go by the way? I mean, I blinked and now it’s the 29th? Well let’s talk about what we did and what’s coming up!

Painted Pumpkin Literary Character Contest
This was SOOOO fun!
- Pumpkins were painted and decorated with additional pumpkins or gourds, paper, glue, paint, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items on the pumpkin.
- Pumpkins represented a Book Character.
- The judging was in 3 categories:
Ages 0-6
Ages 7-11
Ages 12-16
Grand Price (1 per age group category): A Ten Dollar Gift Certificate to Hobby Lobby (So they can get more craft supplies!)
Watch this video to see more pumpkins. Guess what! We only had a few entrants and every family that entered won a prize. I loved that!
Our Giveaway
Our giveaway was based on a book review that I read. When I came across it, it was so amusing I laughed out loud and showed it my kids. Then I shared it on the Facebook Page asking people to guess what book was being reviewed. I added the caveat that, if no one could guess it, I’d do a drawing for those who tried.
Can you believe it? Lana guessed that the book being reviewed was Mistborn: The Last Empire by Brandon Sanderson. I was looking for a new audiobook to listen to and stumbled across this review. A little shout out here to remind all of us, if you love an author’s book give them a great review!
The prize that Lana chose was a gift certificate for a Box of Books (which I mailed to her.) Congratulations Lana, thank you for playing!
Oh, I’m loving the series by the way… I’m on the second book, The Well of Ascension already (and I’m not as into Fantasy as I was when I was younger.)
And there is this!
Trick or Treating for all ages. We’d love for you to come in and get warm with some hot chocolate. 😀

And Crafts
Yes! We’re doing Upcycled Book Crafts again this year and the crafts supplies are out on the table if you want to try your hand at Book Stamping or any of the other crafts. If you want to get some ideas look at our Pinterest Board! Or come in create something with our books and your imagination. Inspire us!

Oh… I’ve got to go!
Probably like you, my schedule is full up to the brim these days. But I’m trying to remember to be thankful that we can do things after a year or so of having to cancel so much in our lives. I hope this Autumn finds you well. Stay tuned for news coming out (really soon) about the exciting things we’re doing and offering in November.
